The tourism classes from Cândido Guerreiro Professional School were tourists for a day on January 15th, 2010. Although the three classes visited different places in the morning, the main destination was the already classic BTL (Bolsa de Turismo de Lisboa).
The day started very early for the three tourism classes, but still the thrill of getting out of the school was noticeable while the students sang and laughed in the bus all the way to Lisbon. When they arrived their destination, the group divided in two. The first year class went to “Pavilhão do Conhecimento”, while the second and third year classes went to “Palácio Nacional da Ajuda”. After that visit, all the students had the chance to eat (and shop) in Vasco da Gama Shopping Centre.
In the afternoon, the three classes re-united in front of FIL, only to separate again in small groups to visit the four pavilions of BTL. The first pavilion was -about Portugal, its regions, its islands, all organized in luminous stands that fought for attention. The second one was about hotels and SPAs, where they were giving free massages to a few lucky visitors. The third pavilion was about travel agencies and their stands offering a wide range of trips to foreign and unknown places. The fourth pavilion, and the favourite of most visitors, had stands about foreign countries, from Spain to Japan, always appealing with their colourful clothing, delicious looking food, traditional music and nice natives of each country.
All the students returned to their homes late, but always with the same thrill they had in the morning, talking about the information they gathered, singing and laughing all the way to the Algarve.
